Water by Autumn Elis

Yesterday, the sky was high,

It has been only a couple of hours,

But I’ve lost the sight,

It feels like an eternity.

Yesterday, I wrote down on my skin,

Words of quietude, words of quietude,

I write it down every single day,

Because I can’t forget (oh I cant forget)

In these lonely streets, the walls seem to be so thin.

I see the fire burning through the windows,

The houses are burning,

But I … I’ll need to cross within…

I write it down on my skin,

Words of hope (Words of hope)

I write it down every single day.

Because I can’t forget, (oh I can’t forget)

Look, we can’t build a bridge,

On mined hearts, lonely streets, in a wind of right,

Yesterday It blew weapons to our eyes,

Cause she was told lies,

The same old ties.

There’s fire, I can see trough the windows,

The houses are on fire,

And I need to cross within…But I need to cross within,

In these same old lies,

In these same old ties,

Yesterday the excuses reached so high, they reached the sky,

And I’ve lost the sight
